Palo Alto Networks has been named a security category finalist for Best of Interop Las Vegas 2008. Interop Las Vegas 2008 will be held April 27-May 2, 2008 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Palo Alto Networks is part of a select group of finalists in an award nomination process that saw nearly 200 submissions. The panel of judges, made up of award-winning editors from InformationWeek, selected the products they believe have the greatest potential to impact and advance business technology efficiencies. The winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.

Palo Alto Networks is being recognized for its next-generation firewall, the PA-4000 Series, which will further address the inherent security risks associated with today’s Web 2.0 enterprise. Just last week, Palo Alto Networks released The Application Usage and Risk Report, an inaugural report that tracks enterprise trends and examines the major shifts required in enterprise risk management as end user empowerment and next-generation application technology drastically reduce corporate visibility and control of employee computing activities.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized in this way,” said Steve Mullaney, Palo Alto Networks’ Vice President of Marketing. “Today’s more collaborative work environment and tech savvy employees require a modern approach to information security. There is power in knowing what’s on the network, and no one wants to embrace next-generation applications and tools at the expense of network security. The PA-4000 Series allows enterprises to reap the benefits of both worlds. It’s a win-win for everybody.”
